This is a two-day In-Person Advanced Race Management Seminar. The seminar consists of one live 1-hour Zoom introductory session; on Tuesday, March 3, and two in-person sessions on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle, 7755 Seaview Ave NW Pier V, Seattle, WA.

Schedule
Preparation Period: Ten days prior to the in-person session the course will open in Canvas, US Sailing’s online learning platform, for completion of the pre-course assignments. There is approximately 8-10 hours of pre-course preparation that is highly recommended and will enhance the class experience. The pre-course material will be available after the seminar and can be reviewed at a more leisurely pace to better understand the in-person session portion of the seminar.

Session 1: Introduction - Tuesday, March 3, 2026, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Zoom Online.
Session 2: Saturday, March 14, 2026, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm in-person.
Session 3: Sunday, March 15, 2026, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm in-person.

Attendance in all three sessions is required to complete and pass the course.

About ten days before the in-person session, you will receive an email from Canvas Free For Teachers, US Sailing’s online learning platform, inviting you to participate in the course. US Sailing course registration fee: $40.

IN-PERSON Basic Race Management Seminar at Oakcliff Sailing Center.

The seminar consists of ONE In-Person session on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.

There is approximately 90-120 minutes of REQUIRED pre-course work prior to the In-Person session. Attendance is required to complete and pass the course.

Please be sure to download the Racing Rules App at: https://www.ussailing.org/competition/rules-officiating/the-racing-rules-of-sailing-2025-2028/. You will also have the option to purchase the print edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-2028 during the registration process.

About 10 days before your course begins, you will receive an email from Canvas Free for Teachers, inviting you to participate in the course through Canvas, US Sailing’s online learning platform. Please click the "Get Started" link to complete your profile in Canvas and access the required course materials.

The lead instructor will email you with additional course information.

US Sailing Course Registration fee: $40. A discounted US Sailing special introductory membership is available for first-timers during the registration process.

Additional fee of $20 per person, payable to Oakcliff Sailing, includes continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages.
