IN-PERSON ADVANCED RACE MANAGEMENT SEMINAR (ARMS) at Orcas Island Yacht Club
876 Deer Harbor Road, Eastsound, WA.

Instructors are Becky Ashburn and Jeff Johnson.

This ARMS fulfills the seminar requirement for certification and recertification and includes the opportunity to take the Advanced Race Officer Test following the final session. You will have three weeks to complete it.

Schedule and Prep
The seminar will consist of a short Introductory Zoom session followed by two in-person sessions. Attendance in all 3 sessions is required to complete and pass the course.

1. Tuesday, May 28, 2024- Introductory Zoom Session, 7:00pm-8:00pm PDT
2. Saturday, June 8, 2024, 9:30am - 6:30pm EST
3. Sunday, June 9, 2024, 9:30am - 6:30pm EST

There is pre-course work to complete between the Intro Zoom Session and Session 1. It is estimated to require 8 to 10 hours to complete. The course is designed to build on lessons learned in these pre-course modules, but they may be accessed, reviewed, or worked on up until the class close date. Timely efforts will produce best results.

Two weeks prior to the in-person session you will receive an email from Canvas Free for Teachers (instructure.com), US Sailing’s online learning platform, inviting you to participate in the course. Please click the "Get Started" link to complete your profile and login to access the REQUIRED pre-course materials in Canvas.

The organizer and/or lead instructor will email you the Zoom link and additional course information before Session 1 begins.
