Course Description: This 2 consecutive day, 16-hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a powerboat and improve their boat handling skills. No previous experience is required. The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course and an increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a State Boating Education Certificate. These states include: CA, CT, FL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OR, Puerto Rico, RI, VA, WA. If you do not live in one of those states, we will issue you a certification card from Maryland since this is where the course was taught.
Duration: 16 hours- 2 Consecutive Days of 9am-5pm
Age Limit: 12+
4 Student Max
These national and state approvals call for the course to include a total of six to eight hours of classroom sessions covering required education topics. The following 8+ hours will be spent aboard the training boat covering hands-on skills focused on close-quarters and open water boat handling. Students will receive a Start Powerboating Right! book and upon course completion earn their US Sailing/US Powerboating Log Book with a certified course completion sticker.
The US Powerboating, “Start Powerboating Right!” course book will be mailed to you prior to that start of the course as well as review questions. Please go over prior to arriving. The days will be a mixture of classroom and on-water training. There will be a full review prior to the tests. This is a fun, 2 day course- we often go by boat to a waterfront restaurant to enjoy lunch together, practice public docking and review material. Upon completion, students earn their US Powerboating Logbook with a Safe Powerboat Handling certification sticker as well as their Boating Safety Education Card. This course is taught aboard our 23’ training boat.

Course Description: This 2 consecutive day, 16-hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a powerboat and improve their boat handling skills. No previous experience is required. The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course and an increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a State Boating Education Certificate. These states include: CA, CT, FL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OR, Puerto Rico, RI, VA, WA. If you do not live in one of those states, we will issue you a certification card from Maryland since this is where the course was taught.
Duration: 16 hours- 2 Consecutive Days of 9am-5pm
Age Limit: 12+

These national and state approvals call for the course to include a total of six to eight hours of classroom sessions covering required education topics. The following 8+ hours will be spent aboard the training boat covering hands-on skills focused on close-quarters and open water boat handling. Students will receive a Start Powerboating Right! book and upon course completion earn their US Sailing/US Powerboating Log Book with a certified course completion sticker.
The US Powerboating, “Start Powerboating Right!” course book will be mailed to you prior to that start of the course. Please go over prior to arriving. The days will be a mixture of classroom and on-water training. There will be a full review prior to the tests. Upon completion, students earn their US Powerboating Logbook with a Safe Powerboat Handling certification sticker as well as their Boating Safety Education Card. This course is taught aboard our 24’ training boats.

Course Description: This 8 hour on-the-water course is for anyone who needs hands-on experience to safely operate a powerboat and improve their boat-handling skills. Students will be expected to study the course materials at home to challenge and pass a written exam cover equipment requirements, rules of the road, aids to navigation, preparation, environmental regulations, safety and emergencies. Material covered at home will be reviewed and practiced during the 8 hour training day. Students will receive a Start Powerboating Right! book and upon course completion, get their US Sailing/US Powerboating Log Book with a certified course completion sticker.

Course Description: This 8 hour on-the-water course is for anyone who needs hands-on experience to safely operate a powerboat and improve their boat-handling skills. Students will be expected to study the course materials at home to challenge and pass a written exam cover equipment requirements, rules of the road, aids to navigation, preparation, environmental regulations, safety and emergencies. Material covered at home will be reviewed and practiced during the 8 hour training day. Students will receive a Start Powerboating Right! book and upon course completion, get their US Sailing/US Powerboating Log Book with a certified course completion sticker.
