?Advanced Inshore Cruising Powerboat course. This two-day, hands-on certification program is designed for boaters to learn the responsible operation of cruising powerboats (34 feet or greater) in coastal waters during daylight.
Course Curriculum:
- Practical Skills: Close-quarter maneuvering, docking, mooring, and anchoring (including windlass and dual anchor use).
- Navigation & Planning: Coastal passage planning using charts, GPS, radar, and sonar.
- Systems Management: Operation of onboard systems, including engine, electrical, and plumbing.
- Safety: Emergency procedures, person-in-water rescue, VHF radio operation, and weather assessment.
Prerequisites and Requirements:
This course is intended for individuals at least 18 years old who have completed a Basic Powerboat Cruising course. Completion of this program through certifying bodies such as US Powerboating or the RYA often serves as a prerequisite for advanced night-cruising or offshore certifications.

This 16-hour on-the-water course is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to operate a small motorboat and improve their boat-handling skills safely. No previous experience is required!* The United States Coast Guard (USCG) and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course. An increasing number of states have recognized it as meeting their requirements for a State Boating Education Certificate.
