Coastal Navigation – 2-Day Course Build the skills needed to safely and confidently navigate along the coast. This intensive two-day course covers chart reading, plotting positions, bearings, tides and currents, course planning, and the use of traditional and electronic navigation tools. Students will practice real-world scenarios to develop confidence in trip planning and coastal passage making. Instruction emphasizes safety, seamanship, and practical techniques that prepare sailors for independent cruising. Duration: 2 days Prerequisite: US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification (recommended) Certification: US Sailing Coastal Navigation (upon successful completion) Audience: Sailors looking to expand beyond local day sailing into coastal cruising and passage planning
